First Steps with Eyesme Extension

Welcome to Eyesme Extension! This guide will help you get familiar with the interface and basic features.

Getting Started

1. The Floater

After installing Eyesme Extension, you'll see a draggable floater with the Eyesme logo that can be freely positioned on either side of your browser. Click the floater to access:

• Chatbot: Open the chat window to interact with advanced AI models, summarize webpage content, analyze YouTube video content, or ask questions
• Screenshot: Open the screenshot area selector to capture screen regions and send them to AI for analysis

2. Accessing Eyesme Extension

You can access Eyesme Extension in several ways:

• Floater: Click the draggable floater on your browser
• Toolbar Icon: Click the Eyesme Extension icon in your Chrome toolbar
• Right-click Menu: Right-click on any webpage and select "Take Screenshot for AI"
• Keyboard Shortcut: Use Ctrl+Shift+X (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+X (Mac) to open the screenshot area selector

3. Signing In

When you first open Eyesme Extension:

1. Click the Eyesme Extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the popup
2. Navigate to the options page from the popup
3. Choose your login method:
   • Email Link: Sign in using email link authentication
   • Google Account: Sign in using Google account authorization
4. After logging in, you're ready to start!

Understanding the Interface

The Floater

The draggable floater is your main access point. Drag it to either side of your browser for easy access. Click it to choose between Chatbot or Screenshot features.

Main Panel

Click the Eyesme Extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup panel, where you can access settings, account management, and navigate to the options page for login.

Context Menu

Right-click on any webpage and select "Take Screenshot for AI" to quickly capture and analyze screen regions.

Your First Summary

Let's create your first page summary using the Chatbot:

1. Navigate to any article or webpage
2. Click the floater and select "Chatbot"
3. In the chat window, ask to summarize the page (e.g., "Summarize this page")
4. Wait a few seconds for the AI to process
5. Review the generated summary

The summary will include:

• Main points of the article
• Key information
• Important details

Your First Question

Try asking a question about a webpage:

1. Open any webpage with content
2. Click the floater and select "Chatbot"
3. Type your question (e.g., "What is the main topic?")
4. Get an instant answer based on the page content

YouTube Features

In the Chatbot, you can:

• Video Summary: Summarize YouTube videos automatically

Screenshot Features

Using the Screenshot option:

• Capture Screen: Take screenshots of any area using the area selector
• AI Analysis: Get AI-powered analysis of screenshots
• Text Extraction: Extract text from images
• Right-click Access: Right-click on any webpage and select "Take Screenshot for AI"

Tips for Best Results

1. Use on content-rich pages: Eyesme Extension works best on pages with substantial text content
2. Wait for page load: Make sure the page is fully loaded before using Eyesme Extension
3. Be specific with questions: More specific questions yield better answers
