Installing Eyesme Extension

Supported Browser

Eyesme Extension is currently available for:

• ✅ Google Chrome

Note: Support for other browsers (Edge, Firefox, etc.) is coming soon.

Installation Steps

Chrome Installation

1. Visit the Chrome Web Store
2. Search for "Eyesme Extension" or click the installation link
3. Click "Add to Chrome" button
4. Review and confirm the installation permissions
5. Once installed, you will see a draggable floater with the Eyesme logo that can be positioned on either side of your browser

Initial Setup

After installation:

1. You will see a draggable floater with the Eyesme logo that can be freely dragged to either side of your browser
2. Click the floater to access:
   • Chatbot: Open the chat window to interact with advanced AI models, summarize webpage content, or analyze YouTube video content
   • Screenshot: Open the screenshot area selector to capture screen regions and send them to AI for analysis
3. Click the Eyesme Extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup
4. In the popup, navigate to the options page to authorize and log in
5. Choose your login method:
   • Email Link: Sign in using email link authentication
   • Google Account: Sign in using Google account authorization
6. After logging in, you're ready to start using Eyesme Extension on any webpage

Permission Requirements

Eyesme Extension requires the following permissions to function properly:

• Read web page content: Used to analyze and summarize page content
• Access YouTube: Required for processing video content
• Screenshot permission: Needed for the screenshot analysis feature

These permissions are necessary for Eyesme Extension to provide its core functionality. We respect your privacy and only process content when you explicitly request it.

Verifying Installation

To verify that Eyesme Extension is installed correctly:

1. Look for the draggable floater with the Eyesme logo on your browser
2. Look for the Eyesme Extension icon in your browser toolbar
3. Click the icon to open the popup panel
4. You should see the login screen or dashboard

If you don't see the floater or icon:

1. Check your browser's extension management page
2. Ensure the extension is enabled
3. Try refreshing the page or restarting your browser

Troubleshooting

Q: I can't see the floater or extension icon after installation

A: Check your browser's extension management page to ensure Eyesme Extension is enabled. You may need to pin it to your toolbar. The floater should appear automatically after installation.

Q: The extension doesn't work on certain websites

A: Some websites may have restrictions. Try refreshing the page or checking if the website allows browser extensions.

Q: Installation fails

A: Make sure you're using Google Chrome and it's updated to the latest version. Update Chrome and try again.

Q: Will Eyesme Extension support other browsers?

A: Support for other browsers (Edge, Firefox, etc.) is planned for future releases. Currently, Eyesme Extension only works on Google Chrome.
